Bloomin’ Bluebells…don’t they look gorgeous? I’m talking about Kyoko and Chris now, but in fairness the flowers were also looking pretty spectacular in Richmond Park last weekend for their engagement shoot.
The Isabella Plantation is a riot of colour at this time of year with bluebells, rhododendrons and azaleas all vying for attention, and in anticipation of lots of Sunday walkers coming out to admire them we met nice and early to get a degree of privacy and some nice uncluttered backdrops. Not everyone is super-confident in front of the camera at first so finding a few nice quiet spots early on generally helps couples to relax into it, and then the fun really begins.
Kyoko and Chris are childhood sweethearts and it was lovely to see them having as much fun all these years down the line, with lots of giggling, tickling, and banter…and snorting at my accidental double-entendres. I won’t go into them all here but by the end of the shoot we had a long list of ‘phrases you wouldn’t expect to hear from your photographer’ – I’ve now realised a photographer’s general vocabulary is littered with words which when innocently put together conjure up an altogether entirely different image….”just sit down here while I take you from behind” – you get the idea, moving on swiftly!
I absolutely can’t wait for Kyoko and Chris’ wedding. They are getting married in Spain at her parents rural estate, Rancho del Ingles in Andalucia, Spain which rather conveniently is all set up as a wedding venue. It’s going to be a big family affair, full of personalised little touches and I’m excited and delighted to be a part of it…and hey, there will be September sunshine aplenty so what’s not to love about that? I just love destination weddings and this year I’ve got fabulous weddings in Spain, Italy and Nigeria to look forward to…oh its a tough life as a wedding photographer 🙂
