Impossibly Photogenic Bride & Groom – Check! Immculate Venue with Great Photo Spots – Check! Glorious Weather for a Marquee Wedding – Ch….hmmm, maybe not quite…but then the only dampener it put on this fabulous day was the wind and rain-infused firework display, and as it happens it made for some pretty interesting shots through my seemingly waterproof lens!
Parley Manor in Dorset was our destination for Emma and Kerrin’s travel-themed wedding…very fitting given these two have literally travelled to all corners of the globe together (check out the table names on the table plan), with Kerrin popping the question at base camp of Mount Everest as they set off to climb it…now that’s one adventurous proposal…just as well she said yes as that would have been one loooooong climb to the top!
One of the things I particularly loved about this wedding was how very ‘personalised’ it was. Of course each wedding is unique and personal to every couple but its not often that nearly every service was provided by a friend in a professional capacity which they say made it even more special. I met Kerrin through a mutual friend years ago; the incredible detail on their ‘Everest proposal-inspired’ cake complete with handmade edible flowers to match Emma’s bouquet was lovingly crafted by a close friend Vicky Dobbs; Kerrin’s best friend and their Master of Ceremonies, Jamie Vogel is a published writer and wrote an inspired and touching poem for one of their readings; the singer/songwriter Tom Dibb yet another friend, sang during the ceremony and performed with his awesome band in the evening; Jimmy Choo for turning his hand to shoe-making for the day ! Okay okay, not really on that last point but wouldn’t he be a great friend to have!
I have so many favourite images from this wedding but a few to look out for are:
- Sue, Mother of the Bride, resplendent in her hat, dressing gown and kitchen cloth (every MoB’s must-have accessory this year)
- Emma’s beaming smile as she heads down the stairs ready to leave
- Kerrin sporting the widest grin known to man as he watches his bride walking down the aisle
- ALL the images in the Cornfields – they were worth the little walk (thanks Emma for being up for it)
- The guys on the dancefloor giving Kerrin the ‘Victory Lift’
Which is your favourite?
And lastly a special thank you to Maria Assia for shooting this wedding with me – always a pleasure working with her!
