This coming weekend, I have the privilege of shooting what is set to be a gorgeous London wedding at The Connaught Hotel in Mayfair which I’m really excited about. Not only is it a beautiful luxury hotel in an amazing setting but Hannah and Marc are an absolute dream to work with.
Back in the summer we met up in Notting Hill for their engagement shoot to get them used to the camera in advance of the big day, but we also came away with some fabulous images which have proved quite sentimental for Hannah and Marc.
They lived in Westbourne Grove at the time and used to hang out around Portobello Road and the surrounding areas when they were first dating, so we thought it would be perfect to pay homage to the area where their relationship blossomed before they moved on to the next neighbourhood and the next chapter in their lives.
It was mouthwateringly tempting looking in the windows of the Hummingbird Bakery and Ottolenghi’s original gourmet deli, but one of my favourite spots was the Wild at Heart flower stall. Initially we were a bit disappointed that it was closed on Sundays but the green tiled wall where the flowers are usually displayed made such a perfect perch and vibrant backdrop for the photos that it was actually a bit of a blessing. With Marc’s local knowledge he admirably assumed the role of tour guide and as you’ll see, we were spoilt for choice with so many amazing photo spots – its a bountiful life as a Notting Hill wedding photographer!
I’m delighted that they valued my recommendation and booked the incredibly talented Mary Jane Vaughan as their florist and the utterly brilliant ReCover as their band. Its going to be one amazing wedding and their dining room is set to be a visual and aural delight – I can’t wait!
Update: The wedding was every bit as incredible as expected. Click here to see Hannah and Marc’s wedding images at The Connaught Hotel.
