I love an elegant portrait as much as the next per

I love an elegant portrait as much as the next person but what breathes life into my soul is this.

The way two look at each other when they forget the camera is there. The quiet recognition. The ease. The love that doesn’t need to be posed.

Here’s a mini collection of images from James & Lucy’s beautiful wedding at Manoir de Longeveau in France that I’m calling The Look of Love. A destination celebration with their closest friends and family where connection mattered more than appearances, and presence mattered more than performance.

This is why I photograph weddings the way I do, happy to travel wherever connection like this takes me, to tell honest stories for couples who care deeply about meaning, intimacy, and the way their love truly feels.

At the risk of sounding cliched but I’m going to say it anyway, years from now, it’s not how you looked that matters most, it’s how you looked at each other. That’s the kind of ‘picture perfect’ I’m after.

The sign says ‘Just for One Day’ but the memories we captured for Helena and Jamie will last forever.

It may seem all hustle and bustle but there’s something magical about eloping in London - the history, the architecture, the pure spontaneity and the ‘anything-goes’ of it all.

You never quite know what’s around the corner and I love the walkabout, with eyes peeled looking for something playful to add to the natural and sentimental moments we’ve already captured.
